Jon Mayorga-Varsity Linebackers

Coach Jon Mayorga is a dedicated resident of the Parker and Douglas County community. A graduate of Chaparral High School, Coach Jon was a multi-sport athlete during his time there. It was during his college years that he first began his coaching career, working with the Fort Collins Youth Association.

After moving back to Parker, Coach Mayorga spent seven years coaching for the Parker Hawks Arapahoe Youth Football. He then transitioned to coaching football at Ponderosa High School in 2015, where he has been coaching for nine years. During this time, he has coached at all levels, including the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams.

Coach Jon Mayorga has focused on coaching both sides of the ball during his time at Ponderosa High School. Jon has spent the past three years as the JV head coach and defensive coordinator, while also working with Varsity running backs. This year, he will be coaching the Varsity linebackers. Throughout his coaching career, Coach Jon has also coached Varsity wide receivers and defensive backs, demonstrating his versatility and knowledge of the game.

Aside from football, Coach Jon has also spent four years as the head coach for the Ponderosa girls’ tennis program, where he led his team to a first-place finish at regionals and had multiple athlete’s place at State competitions. His dedication to coaching and commitment to the community is evident, and he is passionate about watching it grow. Coach Jon is an asset to any team he works with, and his extensive coaching experience makes him a valuable addition to any program.
