Mustang Football Family;

That was a heavyweight battle Friday night between two undefeated teams, and we came up a little short. I was very proud of how hard we played but know that we have a lot of correctable issues that our staff has a plan to fix. Of course we never want to lose- but this may be a good thing for our program to learn from. To be 4-1 with the extremely challenging non league schedule we assembled is fantastic in the eyes of our coaching staff.  We now enter league play Thursday vs. a very talented Denver South team and will need to have a great short week of practice.

We are going to practice Wed afternoon for a bit, because they don’t have our parade time until 5:10. I know we need the work on a short week, plus the boys will just head to Mt. View from Ponderosa.
Our JV team got a convincing win 26-7 and I could see the boys enjoying the game and playing for each other. I liked what I saw…the future is bright.

Although our C team game hasn’t been successful on the scoreboard, our staff is highly encouraged by their effort and commitment they have shown. We have so many first year tackle football players and the learning curve has been steep, but we will get them better by the end of the season if they trust in their coaches and stay the course.
As always, thank you for your support- we are able to run a first class program thanks to the tireless effort of our parents and QB Club. It is appreciated.
