Parents,

As we inch closer and closer to the official start of the season there are a few bits of info I want to get in front of you.  Please read through all of the following info as there is an important note at the bottom of this page and let me know what questions you have.

Team Camps

Our preseason Camp starts next Monday.  If you have not paid for this camp yet please do so HERE. Please double check the practice days and times on our Team Calendar as I believe I made a mistake in the last email I sent out.  Any/all scheduling info in regards to games and practices can be found here.

Freshman Parent meeting

If any Freshman Parents are interested, I would be willing to make myself available to answer any questions you might have about the upcoming season after the Friday (7/23) morning session at 10:30 am.  Anyone that is interested, let’s meet near the bleachers that are on the soccer field closest to the dirt parking lot area.

Hudl

If your player is not receiving Hudl messages from the coaches please have them send their email address to Coach Cohen (jaron.cohen@dcsdk12.org).  Hudl is the only way that coaches communicate with the players, and I have been getting a lot of questions from parents on things that were answered in the coach’s messages.  I don’t mind helping but I want to make sure your players are receiving these messages.

Season Kick off Breakfast

Mark your calendars now for our season kick off meeting that will take place on Saturday August 14th at 10:30 am.  All levels will have practice that morning and will finish the day with an intersquad scrimmage that will end at around 10 am.  The kickoff meeting will start at 10:30. We are exploring a few different options for food that morning so stay tuned for more info.

Mom’s Camp

For any moms that are interested in learning more about the game of football we will hold a Mom’s Camp on August 21st from 10:30-11:15 with lunch to follow.  This is a great way to get out on the field and see what your kids are learning every day at practice.  More to come on this as it gets closer.

King Soopers Fund Raising

If you participate in the King Soopers Fund raising effort by using their King Soopers card, please grab a screen shot of your account activity from the last quarter and get it to Jackie (SPYDRMONKEY003@msn.com) to have the credit applied to your account

Corporate Sponsors

We are in need of corporate sponsors this year.  I have attached a flyer that you can use to talk to any business that you think might be open to supporting the program.  Everything that will come with the sponsorship is detailed in this letter.  In turn for signing a sponsor your player’s Booster Club dues will be reduced by the following amount.  Multiple sponsorships can stack up as well.  Happy hunting!!

  • Gold Level – $150
  • Cardinal Level – $100
  • White – $50

Volunteer positions

If you are still interested in helping gout with the program in a volunteer role this year, please visit the sign up link below.  We have added in additional needs since the last time you saw this so please take a look over it and if there is something you can/want to help with get signed up.

Upcoming Dues

As a way to be transparent about what is on the horizon there are some upcoming dues that you need to be aware of.  The Booster club dues for the corresponding levels are listed below and are due on the morning of the Kickoff breakfast.

  • Varsity/JV – $250
  • Freshman – $150

These fees are per household so if you have 2 players in the program you only need to pay the larger of the two.  We have a link set up HERE to pay this now if you choose to and we will have ways to pay it virtually the morning of the kick off meeting.  Anyone that has been around for a few years remembers the looooong lines to pay your fees and should appreciate the new system.  We are not set up to accept cash now that we have the Cheddar Up system up and running.  If cash is the ONLY way you will be able to pay the fees this year please contact our Treasurer Jolene Cagianut (johum@hotmail.com) to coordinate something.  Our hope is that these dues will be paid prior to the meeting starting.  Also, any families that still owe any dues will receive an invoice showing what they still owe the program.  These invoices will be distributed out in August ahead of the Kick off meeting.

Registration

Registration for Football is now open.  Use the link below to get your son registered for football this fall.  The process is new this year so please read through all of the steps required to get this done.  Additionally, Douglas County School District charges their own fees to register for a sport.  That fee is $200 that will need to be paid at the time of registration.

Football Registration

In order to participate in any High School sport a valid physical is required to be on file.  If you renewed your physical over the summer the new one needs to be uploaded to the system during your registration.  If you have a physical on file from a sport last winter or spring, please contact Allison Porter via her email (allison.porter@dcsdk12.org) to let her know.

Important – Registration will close on the night of August 6th and not reopen again until the morning of August 11th.  Please don’t be late in getting this done. There are always a number of families that wait until the last second and it causes a lot of havoc for the school support staff and the families.

Per CHSAA policy, players need 9 practices to participate in a scrimmage. If kids aren’t registered with a physical in time for the first official practice on August 9th, there is a good chance they could miss the scrimmage August 20th.

I have crammed a lot of information here so let me know what questions you might have on any of this.  I am looking forward to this season, let’s make it a great one.
